Duties of the Health Ministries Team:
Provide church members and people of the community with current information regarding optimum health of the entire person, physical, mental and spiritual. Information will be based on Biblical health principles and current scientific research.
Activities Include planning and leading out in:
Women’s Ministries involves encouraging women to discover and use their gifts to help others and further God’s work. In Evangelism, page 465, Ellen White says that women “can do a work that men cannot do. They can come close to the hearts of those whom men cannot reach. Their labor is needed.”
Women’s Ministries is growing steadily. About 80 percent of the churches and companies each year elect a Women’s Ministries leader. The local leader encourages all women to be involved in many areas of ministry. Women lead out in small prayer and Bible study groups, reclaim missing sisters through the Heart Call program, have friendship “teas” or prayer breakfasts, and are involved in many other inreach and outreach programs.
Three Women's Retreats are held at Camp Au Sable each spring on consecutive weekends to accommodate the growing number of women wanting to attend. These are opportunities for fellowship, for getting ideas for new ways to witness to and help others, and for personal spiritual renewal. They are designed to help women to more fully fulfill their role in sharing the gospel message. These retreats are open to women 18 years of age and older.
A Mother~Daughter Retreat is held at Camp Au Sable each fall. This retreat is geared toward mothers and their young daughters through age 17. This weekend offers a variety of opportunities to nurture and strengthen the special relationship between a mother and daughter as well as their friendship with God.
Mission Statement: To address the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs of women; to improve their potential for more effective roles in their families, churches, professions, and communities.
An annual event that transpires during the summer and last for a full week. This program is geared for Children ages 4 - 15 and starts at 6:00 PM Monday - Friday nights.
Personal Ministries is about people caring for the needs of others. This department helps provide training and support services for pastors and members of the local church in their Christ-ordained work of helping their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and family members know of Jesus’ love.
It is our desire to equip every member of our church to be involved in a ministry and excited about sharing the good news of Jesus and His soon coming.
Personal Ministry attempts to accomplish this goal through training seminars, events, and programs:
Evangelism—The Michigan Conference is committed, by God's grace, to fulfilling its commission of sharing the gospel with others throughout the state. To aid in this goal evangelistic teams lead out by holding series of meetings and seminars in different locations in Michigan. They are aided by the local congregation/congregations through the whole evangelism process, which includes pre-work and follow-up.
